ENTRY REGULATIONS

2 vs 2 teams shall be limited to 4 registered players including a playing coach

The age division is determined by the youngest player on the team as of December 31, 2024

In the Mixed 2 vs 2 competition one woman and one man must be on the court; not 2 men or 2 women.

In the 6 vs 6 Coed division, teams are limited to 10 players and must have a minimum of 2 women on the court all the time.

FORMAT

All events will be in 10 year increments:

40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

Age category determined by youngest team player.

Age is determined by age as of December 31, 2024

Pool play with as many teams as possible advancing to a single elimination tournament

A match shall consist of the best 2 of 3 games.

Net height shall be the same height as for indoor volleyball.

The tournament director reserves the right to combine age groups.

SPORT RULES

2. Team clothing should be of like design and color. Numbers will be provided if necessary.
3. Net contact is only penalized if the player is in the action of play.
4. The imaginary centerline can be crossed as long as there is no interference with the opponent.
5. In pool play, USA Volleyball rules governing tiebreakers will be used.
6. All players may attack the net but never with open-handed tipping.
7. Any setting action toward the opponent must be executed by being square to the direction of the ball.
8. Sets that drift over the net (meant for a teammate, but unintentionally goes over) will be permitted.
9. A hard-driven ball can have multiple contacts.If one attempt  in a defensive/reactive manner (not offensive action.)
10. May never block or attack a serve.
11. Clock contact counts as one of the 3 allowable hits per side.
12. Play will only be halted for a threat of lightening or other unplayable weather factors (wind, darkness etc.)
13. Unlimited substitutions.

2 vs 2 Beach Volleyball is an OPEN event at the NSGA Championships.  No qualification at the state level is necessary.

There is not Beach Volleyball 6 vs 6 Coed Team competition at the NSGA Championships – or Coed Team Volleyball either.

 

2024 is the year in which to qualify for NSGA competition in

Des Moines, Iowa; July 24–August 4, 2025

2024 Event Fees

The OSG Event fee is $65.00

Early Bird Event Fee is $55.00 by August 1

This Fee includes participation in up to 6 events.

Additional events are $5.00 each.

An event is defined as Singles Tennis or 100M Dash or 5K Road Race.  If you enter table tennis singles, doubles and mixed doubles you have entered 3 events.

A $10 fee will be added for any paper registrations.

There is an additional $5 registration fee.  This is added when you complete your registration.

Ballroom single dance $23
Ballroom open dance $23

Bowling $2.50 per game

Water Walking Individual $30 if it is your only event (no OSG fee) plus $5 registration

Fitness $25 if this is your only event (no OSG fee) plus $5 registration

TEAM SPORT REGISTRATION

There are no early bird fees for team sports. All team members pay the $5 individual registration fee

You can sign up as an individual and be placed on a team.  If this is your only event you will be charged only the $5 registration fee.  You pay your share of the team event fee to the team captain.  You, however, must complete the entire registration form.

If you are participating in a team event you pay your team fee to your captain AND if you are participating in another event you pay the OSG fee of $55 or $65.

3 vs 3 Team Basketball  fee $180 up to 10 players

Coed Team Beach Volleyball Team fee   $120  up to 10 players

Golf Scramble  $75 fee for each player

Dragon boat team $1,700 (off peak) or $2,000 (peak times) plus regular early bird registration $55 each

Team Water Walking  $20    4 walkers

Team Bowling    $10 per team of 4 bowlers

Team Line Dance Team fee   $180  fee up to 10 players
