ENTRY REGULATIONS
Athletes may enter all three Tai Chi events (Individual, Group, Open).
The age division for all group events will be determined by the age of the youngest group member as of December 31, 2026.
Group
competitors may be the same gender or mixed.
When applicable the participants must provide their own equipment.
FORMAT
- Events will be as follows
- Chuan Solo – Men/Women
- Chaun Group – empty hand, weapon
- Sword Solo – Men/Women
- Open Weapon Solo (non-sword) – men/women
- Competitors will have one routine for each event
- All routines must conform to Tai Chi style.
- All routines shall be no less than 2 minutes, but nor more than y minutes in duration.
- The NSGA reserves ther right to change the tournament format for any age division based pm entry numbers, space restrictions, or other circumstances.
- Medals will be presented for 1st, second and third place winners.
SPORT RULES
- All Tai Chi competition will be conducted in accordance with USAWKF rules, except as modified herein. For a copy of these rules visit:

- Participant level of experience and mastry shall be as follows:
- Beginner-1 year of experience or less
- Intermediate – 1-3 years of experience
- Advanced – 3+ years of experience.
- Competitors will start each routine with a score of 10.000 points. Following completion of the routine, deductions are made based on the following criteria:
- Quality of movement – 6 points
- Power in harmony – 2 points
- Spirit, pace, stye, content, structure and choreography – 2 points
- Group size shall be limited to ten participants or less for all group routines.
- Solo and group routines shall be judged on rhythm, continuity, stye, content, structure, composition and harmony.
- Weapon routines shall be judged on ability to control the weapon, rhythm, continuity, style, content, structure, composition and harmony.
- Open weapons division shall be open to all ”other” Tai Chi weapons – fan, staff, stick, ball, etc. (no sword shall be allowed in the open weapons division).
- All equipment and weaponry will be inspected by competition judges to determine condition and ensure safety. When possible, weaponry should conform to the IWUF (International Wushu Federation) technical standards and requirements.
- For all events, music is optional. Music must be on external hard drive/removable media (i.e. flash drive, etc.) and given to referee/judge before one’s turn.

2026 IS a qualifying year to participate in the 2027 National Senior Games in TULSA.
You do NOT have to qualify to participate in Tai Chi at the 2027 National Senior Games Championships
All OKLAHOMA RESIDENTS who PARTICIPATE in an event at the 2026 Oklahoma Senior Games automatically qualify to participate in that event at the 2027 National Senior Games in TULSA June 30 – July 11 if that event is offered.
(except pickleball players who must earn an Oklahoma 1st, 2nd or 3rd place in their event—because of the limited court capacity)
