  3. All registration requirements and eligibility rules apply equally to players, non-playing coaches, managers, captains, and bench personnel.
  4. Age divisions for all team competitions shall be determined by the age of the youngest team member as of December 31, 2026.
  5. Teams are not limited in the number of out-of-state players on their rosters. Team captains are responsible for accurately declaring team residency in accordance with Rule F at the time of registration.

FORMAT

  1. The tournament format will consist of pool play, with teams placed into pools as equitably as possible.
  2. Every effort will be made to guarantee each team a minimum of three (3) games.
  3. Teams must provide their own bats, gloves, and warm-up/practice softballs.

SPORT RULES

  1. All games will be conducted in accordance with current Senior Softball USA (SSUSA) rules except as modified herein. For additional information regarding SSUSA rules, visit: Senior Softball USA or call (916) 326-5303.
  2. Team Uniforms. Team uniforms should be of like design and color. Jerseys must display permanently affixed Arabic numerals ranging from 1–99 on the back of the jersey. Numbers must be at least six (6) inches in height and of a contrasting color or outlined in a contrasting color. Duplicate jersey numbers are prohibited. Sponsor names and logos are permitted provided they do not interfere with the visibility or placement of player numbers. Uniforms must not contain inappropriate wording or graphics.
  3. Home Team Designation. The home team will be determined by a coin toss unless otherwise designated by tournament officials.
  4. Tie-Breaking Procedure. Pool play ties will be resolved in the following order:
    a. Head-to-head competition
    b. Fewest runs allowed
    c. Run differential (maximum of +10 per game)
    d. Coin toss
  5. Roster Verification / Identification Check. Players must be prepared to present a valid government-issued photo ID to verify age and eligibility upon request of tournament officials.
  6. Weather / Rainout Policy. Tournament officials reserve the right to modify game length, format, start times, or championship procedures due to weather conditions, field conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances.
  7. Equipment Standards. All bats must comply with current SSUSA bat standards. Tournament officials reserve the right to inspect and disallow any equipment deemed unsafe or non-compliant.
  8. Lineup Cards. Official lineup cards must be submitted to the opposing manager and official scorekeeper no later than ten (10) minutes prior to the scheduled game time. Tournament-provided lineup cards must include each player’s name, jersey number, and defensive position.
  9. Scorekeeping. Official game scores will be maintained by tournament umpires on the designated game card. At the conclusion of each game, both team managers/coaches must verify and sign the official scorecard.
  10. Batting Lineup. Teams may bat any number of eligible players listed on the official lineup card. The batting order established at the beginning of the game must remain consistent throughout the game.
  11. Forfeit Rule. Teams must be prepared to play at their scheduled game time. A game may be declared a forfeit if a team is unable to field the required number of players within ten (10) minutes of the scheduled start time.
  12. Runs Per Inning. During pool play, teams will be limited to five (5) runs per inning, except during the seventh inning or any officially declared final inning, which will be unlimited.
  13. Mercy Rule. A mercy rule will be in effect for all games. A game will be declared complete if a team leads by twenty (20) runs after four innings or fifteen (15) runs after five innings, or at any point when the trailing team cannot mathematically overcome the deficit.
  14. Time Limit. Games will consist of seven (7) innings or a sixty-five (65) minute time limit. No new inning shall begin after sixty-five (65) minutes. The inning in progress will be completed. If time expires before seven innings are completed, the game shall be considered official.
  15. Championship Bracket. If necessary, teams may advance from pool play into a single-elimination championship bracket, with seeding determined by pool play results.
  16. Qualification for the 2027 National Senior Games. First-, second-, and third-place teams in each age division and gender category will qualify for the 2027 National Senior Games Association (NSGA) Championships. All softball teams meeting Oklahoma residency requirements will also qualify.
  17. Ejection / Sportsmanship Policy. Unsportsmanlike conduct by players, coaches, managers, or spectators may result in ejection from the facility and possible tournament disqualification. Tournament officials reserve the right to remove any individual whose conduct is deemed detrimental to the event.
  18. Protest Policy. Protests regarding player eligibility must be submitted before the conclusion of the game in question. Judgment calls made by umpires are not subject to protest. All protests will be reviewed by the Tournament Director and/or Tournament Committee, whose decision shall be final.
  19. Additional Softball Rules. Additional sport-specific rules and minimum performance standards may be found at NSGA Official Website under National Games → Rules and Minimum Performance Standards → Softball.
