Wise Dragon Boat Race is part of the OGE Night Sprints at the Oklahoma Regatta Festival

DIVISIONS

Divisions include Ages 50+, Age 65+, and Breast Cancer Survivor

All women crews, All men crews or Mixed crews

Age of boat’s team for competition determined by the youngest member of the crew.

Admission to RIVERSPORT events is free.  Parking is $10.

FORMAT

  1. Crew consists of 11 members (10 paddlers, a drummer and a steer person) plus up to 4 substitutes. RIVERSPORT will provide the coach/steersperson.
  2. Cost: $1,700 (off peak hours) $2,000 (peak hours, M-Thurs 4-8 pm) includes 10 practice sessions and entry in regatta for crew.
  3. After the captain registers, crew registers as individuals. OSG fee is $65 per person plus a $5 registration fee.Crew must know team name to do this.
  4. Athletes who register with the Oklahoma Senior Games receive an Oklahoma Senior Games T-shirt, and admission to the Celebration of Athletes at the Cleveland Count Event Center Saturday, November 7. OSG winners receive 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals in each 10-year age group. =

SPORT RULES

  1. Course is 200 Meters.
  2. The starting line is on the Oklahoma River in front of the UCO boathouse; the finish line tower marks the finish line.
  3. 10 paddlers and one drummer are required to be in each boat.
  4. Boats must make every effort to stay in their assigned lane.
  5. Teams will be seeded and assigned a qualifying heat based on results from end of season trials.
  6. The three teams with the fastest times from the heats will race in the finals.
