RULES
- 8-Ball RACK must have the 1-ball on the foot spot, the 8-ball in the center, and a solid and a stripe on the two lower corners.
- Players will CALL all SHOTS (intended ball and pocket) unless OBVIOUS. Banks, combinations, rails, etc. do not need to be called, just the intended ball and pocket.
- The BREAK:
- Coin flip used to determine first break (winner picks who breaks).
- Player breaking may use any cue available.
- Player breaking places the cue ball anywhere behind the headstring for the break.
- If any ball is legally pocketed during the break without pocketing the cue ball (Foul), the Breaker continues to shoot, and the table is still considered OPEN, regardless of which balls were pocketed.
- If the Breaker pockets a ball legally on the second shot, they are committed to that group (stripes or solids). If not, the table is still considered OPEN for the next shooter.
- If no balls are pocketed on the Break, at least 4 balls must be driven to any rail, or it can be considered an illegal break. The incoming shooter has the option to:
1) accept the table as is and continue shooting the OPEN table,
2) re-rack and break themselves, or
3) re-rack and have the other shooter break again. - Pocketing the 8-ball on a legal break is not a FOUL or WIN. If the 8-ball is pocketed, the Breaker has the option of re-breaking or re-spotting the 8-ball and accepting the balls in position.
- If the Breaker pockets the 8-ball and scratches, the opponent has the option of re-spotting the 8-ball and continuing play or re-breaking.
- If the Breaker commits any other fouls or scratches during the break, the opponent starts with “Ball in Hand Behind the Headstring”.
- FOULS
- During every shot, at least one ball must be driven to a rail or pocketed. If not, this is a foul.
- FOULS during the Break result in Ball in Hand BEHIND THE HEADSTRING.
- All FOULS after the break result in the incoming shooter having
Ball in Hand anywhere on the table. The cue ball can be moved as often as needed with hand or cue until the shot. - Examples of standard Fouls include Cue ball scratch or off the table, striking the wrong ball first, no rail after contact, double hit, inadvertently touching any balls with hand, clothing, hair, or cue, playing out of turn, no foot on the floor at the time of contact, etc.
- CONDUCT
- All players expected to call their own Fouls and police their own games. Disputes will be resolved by Event Director or designate.
- No disruptive behavior allowed while anyone is shooting. This applies to all players and fans.
- No SMOKING, VAPING, FOOD or DRINK allowed in pool table area.
