FORMAT
- Each competitor will compete in one lifting session; and is allowed three attempts on each of three lifts (squat, bench press, deadlift).
- All Power Lifting events will be conducted in accordance with USA Power Lifting rules except as modified in the document posted on the OSG website.
SPORT RULES
- Competition takes place between lifters in categories defined by sex, bodyweight, and age.
- The following competition lifts are recognized and must be taken in the same sequence in all contests: 1) squat, 2) bench press, and 3) deadlift.The “total is the sum of the heaviest successful attempt on each lift.
- Each competitor is allowed three attempts on each lift.The lifter’s best successful attempt on each lift counts toward their competition total. If two or more lifters achieve the same total, the lighter lifter ranks above the heavier lifter.
- If two lifters register the same bodyweight at the weigh-in and eventually achieve the same total at the end of the competition, the lifter making the total first will take precedence over the other lifter.
- A successful attempt in all three disciplines is required to earn a total.Should a lifter fail to make a successful attempt in the squat and/or bench press, they may continue to compete for the remainder of the contest, but they will not earn an official total (their total will be recorded as (0).
- Equipment check is required for every competitor. Either the lifter or the lifter’s coach must present the apparel/equipment to be inspected.All personal apparel/equipment that will (or might) be work/used during competition must be inspected and approved at equipment check.
- All lifters in the session must attend a formal weigh-in/equipment check prior to competition.
- The following weight classes shall be used for competition.
- Athletes 40 to 49 as of December 31, 2026 are encouraged to participate; however they may not participate in the Nationals Senior Games until they reach the age of 50.
- If you’re bench only or just wanting to do Bench/deadlift please specify that as well when signing up.
- If you’re using knee wraps or a Bench Shirt you will be in the equipped class so specify that as well.
- Knee Sleeves and Knee Wraps are different sleeves you can just slide on and knee wraps you wrap them around your knee.

2026 IS a qualifying year to participate in the 2027 National Senior Games in TULSA.
ALL OKLAHOMA RESIDENTS who PARTICIPATE in an event in the 2026 Oklahoma Senior Games automatically qualify to participate in that event at the 2027 National Senior Games in TULSA
June 30 – July 11 if that event is offered.
Power Lifting is a OPEN sport at nationals. Athletes do not need to qualify to compete in this sport.
Participation in state senior games gives you the opportunity to compete in preparation for nationals.
(except pickleball players who must earn an Oklahoma 1st, 2nd or 3rd place in their event—because of the limited court capacity)
